HomeAdvocacy Cases: Strengthening Disability-Inclusive Food Systems

Persons with disabilities often face heightened barriers to food security, making inclusive policies and systems essential. The We are Able! programme works to change this by strengthening the capacity of persons with disabilities to advocate for their rights to food, land, and sustainable livelihoods. Operating in six countries and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the programme amplifies the voices of persons with disabilities so they can influence food security policies and practices. As we marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, we reflected on key achievements, celebrated valuable partnerships, and highlighting advocacy successes that are driving more inclusive food systems.
